Postponement & Refund Details
Dear Members
No doubt you have all been waiting for an update around the 2021 CSNZ Workshop.
As a management committee, we were steadfast in our commitment to offer a Workshop to our members in 2021, but Covid-19 has a different plan for us all, and with the current Level 3 lockdown in Auckland and Level 2 status for the rest of New Zealand, the responsible thing to do has been to “postpone” the workshop until March 2022. A large number of delegates and speakers are either from the Auckland Region of affected by travel through Auckland, and many providers are less willing to have guests from affected areas, and even if lockdown is lifted, we are unlikely to be able to run a full conference.
Martinborough is a stunning location and while we are disappointed, we will not be able to make it happen this year. The committee made the unanimous decision that Martinborough be the location for the workshop in 2022. We know you too will be disappointed around the late cancellation, but our first priority is to keep you all safe and that means not bringing you all together under the current circumstances.
We will however be sending you an online update in the coming weeks from the Management Committee, Otago University and the CSNZ Annual Practice Review feedback from Liz Blake. There may also be an opportunity for some online learning hosted by CSNZ, of which we will advise in due course.
Where to from here:
- If you have booked your accommodation through a provider listed on the CSNZ website, please contact them directly to confirm your cancellation, we have been in contact with each provider, so they are all aware that the Workshop has been cancelled. Because accommodation bookings have been made by you all independently you will need to contact them to confirm you no longer require it, provided you do this promptly there should be no charge.
- Wendy Sheedy the CSNZ secretary will make her way through refunds for the total amounts you have paid to CSNZ, please be patient while she processes them all, but she will be in touch.
- If you have booked flights through Air NZ – you should be able to obtain a credit for your flights.
- If there is anything else, you have booked independently e.g., rental cars – please cancel these directly with the supplier.
Any other questions or concerns around the workshop please contact Nikki Hansen on 021 1645 372.
Again, we thank you for your ongoing support as we navigate through Covid-19 and the effects it has had on us all, we hope you all stay safe and well, and we look forward to seeing you all in Martinborough in 2022.
